There are many professions you can learn through Ausbildung, for example:
Basically, you can do an Ausbildung for almost any non-academic job. If you want to become a doctor, lawyer, or teacher, you will need a university degree instead.
At the end of the Ausbildung, you take a final exam – usually organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) or a similar body.
If you pass, you receive an official certificate (such as “Skilled Worker” or “Journeyman”). This proves that you are now a qualified professional in your field.
